A new bookkeeping business needed a website that looked trustworthy from day one. The project focused on shaping a clearer service story, refining the visual presentation and giving Susan a launch-ready site she felt confident sending clients to.
For a startup, the website acts as first proof. Stewarton Bookkeeping needed to look professional immediately, explain services simply and make it easy for potential clients to understand what the business offered.
This project shows the kind of uplift many local service businesses need most: not unnecessary complexity, but smarter refinement. The progression is visible in the real screenshots, from rough structure to cleaner launch-ready presentation.
Phone photos and saved iterations made it possible to show the actual development journey. That matters because the value is not only in the final result, but in the judgement used to improve it.
Core pages and content blocks were established first. At this stage the website was functional, but the hierarchy, spacing and visual rhythm had not yet been fully refined.
Navigation, service grouping and contact areas were improved to make the offer easier to understand. This stage tightened the structure so the site felt more deliberate and easier to scan.
Typography, spacing, icon treatment and CTA presentation were all strengthened to move the site from "built" to "presentable". This is where the first impression improved significantly.
Responsive hierarchy and button treatment were improved so the site felt cleaner and more confident on smaller screens. Final consistency passes helped the launch version feel much more complete.
The screenshots below are not stylised mockups. They are real development captures, which makes the progression more credible and more useful as proof of process.
